Camping season is always the best, nothing quite beats sitting around a fire, hearing the giggles and kids riding their bikes around the campground, and waving to the sites close by. One of our favorite spots that conveniently offer cabins in their campground, is Jellystone Park at Mammoth Cave. It’s perfectly located just a few miles from Mammoth Cave National Park. Nestled on 950 Mammoth Cave Road in Cave City, KY, this family-focused resort offers a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and endless fun. We love the cabins, but whether you’re in a cabin, pitching a tent, or rolling in with your RV, it hits the mark on every level.
Campground Near Mammoth Cave National Park
Jellystone at Mammoth Cave is just a 5‑minute drive or 10 minutes total from the Visitor Center of Mammoth Cave National Park. That means you get easy access to the park without sacrificing relaxation time at the campground. Make sure to book your tours at Mammoth Cave early though, they tend to sell out, especially in peak summer months!

Cabins, RV Hookups and Camping!
My favorite park of Jellystone at Mammoth Cave is the flexible lodging options tailored to your style and crew size:
- Cozy Cabins & Glamping Cottages: They have a range of cabins starting at 400 sq ft. The one we stayed in had two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and one with two twin bunkbeds. They have cabins that sleep up to 8 and that include kitchens, baths, porches, and fire rings!
- Fully Hook-up RV Sites: If you want to bring your own camper, they have pull-through or back-in spots equipped with 20‑ to 50‑amp service, water, sewer, cable, Wi‑Fi, picnic tables, and fire rings
- Tent Sites: For those that want to go the primitive camping route, choose from premium spots with water/electric or more rustic “primitive” sites. All sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and access to bathhouses
Family Fun Amenities That Wow
This is where Jellystone shines. It’s not just a campground, it’s a full-fledged family resort:
- Water Fun: Two swimming pools, splash pad, lake/beach area with an inflatable obstacle course
- Active Play: Jumping pillows, mini‑golf, playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, fishing ponds, pedal carts, and more
- Organized Recreation: Ice cream socials, crafts, character meet‑and‑greets (Yogi, Boo‑Boo, Cindy!), movie nights, themed weekends (think Christmas in July!)
- Extra Conveniences: Arcade/game room, laundry, firewood, propane refill, and dump station all covered by resort fees
- Golf Cart Rentals: For an additional fee, you can rent a golf cart to get around the park easily…and to tell you the truth, you are going to want one. The park is very big so the golf carts make it a breeze to get from activity to activity. You can also bring your own golf cart if you have one!

Planning Tips for Your Stay
- Book early for cave tours: Tours sell out fast, especially in summer.
- Midweek stays = savings: They often have great deals on mid-week stays so check their socials for discount options!
- Choose the right lodging: Camping, RV, Cabins, no problem! Choose the right lodging through their wide variety and size of cabins. Note that if you do book a cabin, they provide linens for rent so you may want to bring yours from home to make it extra comfortable.
- Pack water-friendly play gear: Inflatables, swimwear, towels for the lake and pools. They had some life jackets for the inflatable obstacle course, but if you have little one’s, bring your own!
- Budget for resort fee: Included in your stay, but they are so worth it. Also budget for renting a golf cart!
- Bring or buy firewood: They sell fire wood for the fire pits in their shop onsite, but you can always bring your own if you want to save.
- Pets welcome: Pet’s are welcome, they have several dog parks and it’s very friendly but make sure to check out rules and regulations.
Book your trip here at Jellystone at Mammoth Park and have an amazing campground experience in Kentucky. We already said we are going back and want to bring the whole family for endless fun.
